Community Awards

Each year the Kiwanis Club of Issaquah sponsors three awards, which are presented at the annual community awards luncheon of the Issaquah Chamber of Commerce. This luncheon will be held in May, and tickets are usually $25. Phone the Chamber of Commerce at 425 392-7024 for more information and tickets.

The three awards sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Issaquah are:

Volunteer of the Year Award

Purpose:
To honor a person whose efforts have made a huge difference in our community
Criteria:
To make a nomination:
Please send a one or two page nomination letter by April 1 to the Community Service Committee, Kiwanis Club of Issaquah, PO Box 1111, Issaquah, WA 98027.

Environmental Award

Purpose:
To honor responsible stewardship of Issaquah's natural environment
Criteria:

Spiritual Values Award

Purpose:
To honor a person or organization which has significantly enhanced the human and spiritual values of the greater Issaquah area

The Kiwanis Club of Issaquah offers two kinds of scholarships to graduating high school seniors:

High School Leadership Scholarships

Every spring, the Kiwanis Club of Issaquah presents a $1500 scholarship to one graduating senior from each of the following schools: Issaquah High School, Liberty High School, and Tiger Mountain High School. The deadline for applying for one of these scholarships is April 30.

Leadership Scholarship Criteria and Forms

Linda and Jeff Ruehle Scholarship

The late Linda Ruehle established an award in her name and her husband's, in honor of their son, a student at Issaquah High School who was killed in an accident. The award provides $2000 for a graduating senior from Issaquah High School, to be used for furthering his or her education. The deadline for applying for this scholarship is April 30.
